Registration:

 

Are there minimum age requirements to participate in the half marathon or 5-mile races?

The Equinox Half Marathon has the following minimum age requirements:

Half Marathon – 13 years old on race day

5-Mile – 10 years old on race day

 

Is registration available at packet pickup or on Race Day?

Packet Pickup – Yes, you may register for either event at packet pickup if they have not reached capacity.

Race Day – No Registration, Limited Packet Pickup availability 

Online registration will close Friday, Sept 16th at midnight, or when the event reaches capacity.

 

What do I receive with my registration?

All participants receive:

  • 1/4 zip long sleeve technical race shirt
  • Fast & beautiful downhill race course
  • Free bus transportation to race start and back from finish area
  • Chip timing
  • Custom race bib
  • On-course support and aid stations
  • Runner goody bag
  • Bag drop service from start area to finish area
  • Commemorative pint glass with race logo
  • Post-race party w/ food and beverages
  • Half marathon finishers receive finishers medal!

 

Photography services and offical race posters available for purchase at or after the event.

 

May I transfer my registration from one race to another?

If you are registered for the Half Marathon you have the option to switch to the 5 mile.

If you are registered for the 5 mile you may switch to the half marathon but must pay the difference of your registration fee and the current half marathon registration fee.

 

May I transfer or switch my bib/registration to another runner?

Sorry, race bibs are non-transferable.

 

May I defer my registration to next year?
Sorry, registrations can not be held for a future event. You are welcome to pick up your race shirt and goody bag (or have someone else pick them up for you) if you are not running.

 

May I get a refund of my registration?
Sorry, all registrations are non-refundable for any reason. You are welcome to pick up your race shirt and goody bag (or have someone else pick them up for you) if you are not running.

 

What is the refund policy?

When you register for the event you are agreeing to the event refund policy which states:

There are no refunds, deferments, or transfers of registrations. This includes but not limited to injury, a scheduling conflict, Acts of God (including fire, flood, earthquake, storm, hurricane or other natural disaster) and/or event cancellation.

 

When is Packet Pickup?

Packet pickup is the day before the event, Saturday September 17th from 2-7 pm.

 

Can my friend or family member pick up my packet for me?

Yes, you may have someone else pickup up your packet for you.

 

Can I pick up my packet on race day?

There will be limited race day packet pickup. You must reserve this option in advance and pay the additional $10 fee.

 

Is there a time limit to finish the race?

There is a time limit of 3 hours and 15 minutes to finish the race.

 

RACE DAY:

 

Can I run the race as an unofficial entrant?

No, you must be registered to participant in the event.  You will need to show your bib number to board the bus to get to the start of the race.

What time do I get on the bus?

Half Marathon: 6:00 – 6:30 am

5-Mile: 6:15 – 6:45 am

 

How long is the bus ride?

To Half Marathon start ~45-50 min

To 5-Mile start ~30-35 mins

 

What if I forget my bib number?
You will not be allowed to get on the bus. Your bib number is your bus pass.

 

Are there restrooms/port-a-johns available?

Yes, there will be restrooms/port-a-johns at the following locations:

Bus Loading Area – Poudre High School

Half Marathon Start Area – Mishawaka

5-Mile Start Area – Gateway Natural Area

Every Aid Station along the course

Finish Area

 

How many aid stations and where are they?

There will be 5 aid stations along the course for Half Marathon participants and 2 aid stations for 5-Mile race participants.

  • Aid #1 ~ Mile 3 (half Marathon)
  • Aid #2 ~ Mile 5.5 (half Marathon)
  • Aid #3 ~ Mile 7.5 (half Marathon)
  • Aid #4 ~ Mile 9 (half Marathon), ~Mile 1 (5-Mile)
  • Aid #5 ~ Mile 11 (half Marathon), ~Mile 3 (5-Mile)

 

 

What is at the aid stations?

Each aid station will have awesome volunteers, water, electrolyte replacement drink, first aid supplies, a portable toilet, communication to finish and EMS.  Please carry your own gels etc. and dispose of trash at aid stations.

 

Are there finisher medals?

All Half Marathon finishers will receive a custom finisher medal upon crossing the finish line.

All participants will receive an event pint glass at the finish line to be used for water and/or beer at the post race part.

 

May I wear headphones or earbuds?

We strongly discourage the use of headphones/earbuds during the event! This is a safety issue as the canyon road is still open to traffic. You need to be able to hear vehicles and others around you.

 

Are strollers allowed?

Strollers, roller or inline skates, skateboards, scooters, bikes, dogs, unregistered runners and runners moving upriver are NOT ALLOWED on either the Half Marathon or Five Mile courses.

 

SPECTATORS:

 

Can my friends and family park at the finish area?

Spectators are encouraged to come to the finish area to celebrate your race with you.  Due to limited parking availability and as a Green Event we highly encourage busing and carpooling! FREE busing for spectators will be provided to and from the finish area from Poudre High School.  See transportation page for all the info.

 

A limited amount of parking is available at the finish area for a $10 to the race beneficiaries.  When the spaces are full parking area will be closed.  No Parking along Hwy 14 or Hwy 287.

 

Are dogs allowed?

We love dogs too!  However, dogs are not allowed in the races or at the finish area.
